Are you looking to upgrade the hard drive on your laptop? It makes sense, because an older hard drive can drive down the performance by a huge amount. If you are feeling as though everything on your laptop happens in a very sluggish way even something as simple as opening applications or files it is not the processor that is holding you back. It is your hard drive. You are going to need to get a new hard drive, and the process is a lot simpler than you would think. All you need is a new hard drive, a screwdriver and some ingenuity!
When you get a new hard drive, whether it is a HDD, SSD or the best sshd, you are going to take it and replace the hard drive on your computer. Now you have two choices. You can either mirror the data on your older hard drive to the new one, or you can start fresh. We would recommend the fresh start. You can always transfer specific files from the older hard drive to the new one using a data cable. But we would not suggest a complete copy, as any “unwanted” files and junk data will also make their way onto the new hard drive.
In terms of performance, we think the SSHD is going to give you exactly what you want. It is the hybrid of the HDD and the SSD, and we think it is ideal for most laptop users. Part of the SSHD is high speed, while the rest of it is a regular hard drive. And most importantly, it offers you much more space than a SSD. For laptop users who cannot add two hard drives to the system, the space you get with the SSHD is very important. SSDs are great, but they have very little file space!
